MY TOP 10 LIPSTICKS
Like most beauty obsessed people I find that the product type I buy the most of is lipstick. Just like shoes, you can never have too many lipsticks, am I right? I have spent a decent amount of my beauty-addicted adulthood trying to understand my skin and have come to the (unfortunate) conclusion that I have combination/dry skin and often dry lips. Despite slathering on Christian Dior Creme de Rose lip balm every night before bed (which is amazing and I highly recommend it, by the way), I still suffer from dry lips. That being said, not just any lip product will work for me. As much as I hate it I try to stay away from matte formulas and purchase creamier options that won't dry my lips out (although I still cave once in a while and find ways to make a matte work for me).
So what I have for you today is my top 10 lipsticks that pretty much live in my purse or dresser top at all times for easy access. You might notice that the colours of my top 10 run quite similar to each other. I love a good nude lipstick. I find they're the most wearable while still looking very classy. Not to mention, the boyfriend really doesn't like the look of a dark lip colour. I know, I know. Who cares what he thinks! So if I want to try something a little more bold I look to a berry, deeper brown, or mauve shade, which I believe compliments my skin tone and colouring quite nicely. You'll also notice that there are a few repeat brands. Of course, once I know a particular formula wont dry out my lips and has the colour payoff i'm looking for I'll buy several colours in that line. I'm a firm believer that drugstore makeup options have the potential to be just as good as high end brands so you'll also see that I have a mixture of both.
