OCTOBER FAVOURITES

Another month gone, another monthly favourites. Here is a quick collection of some of the things that I have been loving for the month of October.

After hearing tons of wonderful reviews on the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes I was determined to try them. I hunted them down at my local Walmart and was able to purchase two shades: Daringly Nude and Touch of Spice. Normally opposed to matte lipsticks because of their drying properties, I was skeptical to say the least. But after trying these shades I was converted. I wish every lipstick ever made came in this formula. Not too drying, velvety soft, and bold pigment. Perfection. I love each shade I purchased equally but each serves a different purpose for me. Touch of spice is a rich pinky brown, great for those nights I want to have a bolder lip but not bold enough to scare people. The shade Daringly Nude is an absolutely perfect everyday colour and I've been wearing it practically everyday this month.

Paired perfectly with Daringly Nude I discovered Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in All Natural. Exactly as the name suggests, this liner is a creamy, soft, high pigmented lip liner for everyday use and that beautiful nude lip.

A new product I gave a try during the month of October is Anastasia Beverley Hills DipBrow Pomade in Medium Brown. To be honest this product took a while to perfect. I wore it once only to have my boyfriend ask me what was wrong with my brows and why I looked so mad. Clearly my brow game was too strong. I started debating returning the product to Sephora. Instead, I kept at it, determined to figure out the hype behind the product. Using a lighter hand I finally saw good results. On those heavier, glamorous makeup days when I want a nice, sculpted brow this is my new go to. It just takes a careful hand and light application.

I spent most of the summer daydreaming about the Ash Jalouse suede ankle boots but could never ever come to the decision to spend that much. Especially since the colder months here are harsh, icy, cold, wet, and very damaging to footwear. I gave up on the dream and looked elsewhere for a cheaper ankle boot. I didn't have much luck, but found myself Halloween shopping in Walmart and came across a nearly exact replica of the Jalouse boots (close enough for me at least). These boots are surprisingly comfortable and the best part... only $29. I won't feel guilty about scuffing them up or wearing them in cold, wet weather.  I liked them so much I ended up buying the same pair in black as well!

As you know if you read my last post I started Project Life, which is my last favourite of the month. I've only completed two weeks of it but I can see that this is something I'll enjoy making a part of my everyday. I can't wait to flip through an entire year of images. I can't wait to share it with loved ones.

Let me know what were your favourites of the month!
